Celtic to tour Japan and China in Summer

Peter Lawwell, ceo of Scottish Premier League club Celtic, has a yen for doing business in Japan. "We have a number of commercial deals in Japan and we're on the point of confirming them," he said as quoted by Tom English in The Scotsman. The Shunsuke Nakamura Effect is move things along, including a television programme currently airing in Japan that pits six-a-side teams against each other. "It's a kind of a Pop Idol type thing and the winner comes here to play Celtic. That, indirectly, gives us a lot of exposure," Lawwell said. To exploit the exposure, English states, Celtic will play in Japan in the summer "as well as in China, to tap into the Du Wei market".
