Vietnam sports law may encourage investment

Members of Vietnam's National Assembly Standing Committee debating a draft Sports Law belive offences like match-fixing, doping, and betting in sports should be defined more clearly. Ms Tran Thi Tam Dan, chairman of the NA Committee of Culture, Education, Youth and Children Affairs, called for supplementary regulations to spell out the kinds of violations and suitable penalties for them.

Members also called for provisions that would encourage local and foreign individuals and organizations to invest in sports, Tanhnien reported.
