Man U appoints its first marketing manager in Asia

English Premier League club Manchester United has appointed Rob James as its first ever Marketing Manager in Asia. James is currently based in Hong Kong as a consultant to Connect Communications Ltd and is a former regional Event Director for IMG Asia, responsible for the successful delivery of over 50 major events for clients. He will support the club’s major sponsors in the region, especially AIG, as well as playing a key role in the club’s tours to the region and building the club’s brand in Asia.

“This is a very important appointment for the club. Rob has the right qualities and experience to help AIG to activate its sponsorship in some of its key markets and to drive the club brand in the region through tours and other commercial activities," Commercial Director Andy Anson said. "There is tremendous potential to reach our 40 million plus fans in the area. I look forward to working with Rob,” he told the club's website.
