China goes down to Thailand in Bangkok friendly

China has lost to Thailand 1-0, the first time in 14 years. Zhu Guanghu's team went to Bangkok for the friendly as preparation for the 2007 Asian Cup which kicks off on 7 July but was without top players Li Weifeng and Du Wei, who couldn't take part in the match due to injuries. "Thailand's style is similar to Malaysia's. Since China will be in the same group with Malaysia in the Asian Cup, it was a good chance for Zhu Guanghu to test his players in a friendly with Thailand," China's CCTV observed.
