China selects squad for 16 May Thailand friendly

China coach Zhu Guanghu has announced a 22-man squad for the 16 May friendly against AFC Asian Cup 2007 co-hosts Thailand at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok. Guanghu has called up Shandong Luneng defender Jiao Zhe while Zhang Shuai makes a comeback after a long period on the sidelines. Also on the roster are two overseas based players - Lie Tie (Sheffield United) and Shi Jun (Young Boys Bern). China are in Group C for the competition alongside Iran, Uzbekistan and co-hosts Malaysia while Thailand will face Australia, Oman and Iraq in Group A.
