Alfredo Esteves the only professional football player from Timor Leste, currently playing for Minnesota Thunder in the USL 1st Division in the USA, will represent the young Asian country.

Alfredo already had the chance to play alongside Figo, Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo when he joined them in the Algarve for the 2005 edition of the Figo AllStars game. “It was with great excitement that I receive this invitation again” said the experienced defender. “Personally it is awesome to be able to play with such football superstars and it is also an honor to be able to place Timor Leste’s name, in the world map of football”

Alfredo was recently reported to be in Australia in discussions with two A-League clubs - Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC - for the upcoming 2007/08 season. “I was in Australia in fact and spent a couple of days with Sydney FC, but nothing is scheduled for the near future”. Despite knowing that this is a strong possibility, he didn’t lose his focus “I just want to have a great USL season with the Thunder and enjoy the AllStars game”
