Withe returns to Thailand for University Games

Former Thailand and Indonesia national team coach Peter Withe has been given charge of the Thailand university team for August’s World University Games which Thailand are hosting. Withe guided Thailand to two Tiger Cup wins before joining Indonesia in 2004 only to be sacked after a series of failures. "Peter has good knowledge of the European style of football and there will be many European teams competing in the University Games," Thavatchai Sajakul, student team manager, told the Bangkok Post. "Peter has got a lot of coaching experience and knows a lot about football as well as the Thai footballers. I think bringing him back will inspire the Thai team."
