Bayern Munich to set-up JV academy in Vietnam

A Martin Hagele-led mission from German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich has arrived in Vietnam to join with The Cong Viettel to set up a joint venture football training centre in Hanoi. At a meeting on 1 July, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the two clubs under which selected Vietnamese youth footballers will train in both Vietnam and Germany. Bayern Munich already has a football academy in Japan. It plans to open another in Thailand. Earlier this year, Arsenal and V-League side Hoang Anh Gia Lai opened a training centre in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.
